The Prostate Cancer Survivors Association of West Michigan offers peer support for the many individuals who have been diagnosed and treated for prostate cancer in our community (over 1,000 West Michigan men every year as reported by the State Cancer Profiles website). Some points of emphasis for our meetings include providing support for fellow prostate cancer survivors, awareness of proactive self-help measures to increase the odds of a successful healing, and knowing we aren’t alone in facing this disease.
Our meetings and events are opportunities to connect with other men to discuss common issues, obtain information, and share experiences related to living with prostate cancer. Whether you’re a long-term survivor or newly diagnosed, men can engage in informal group discussion and find the support they need.
In addition, we are proud to bring in doctors and other leading medical and emotional health professionals to speak with us. By being well-informed, men can make choices about their treatment with confidence. These meetings provide a forum for experts to inform group members about treatment options and after-treatment counseling. It is also an opportunity to have a discussion with these experts and get your questions answered.
